Clare is a clinical psychologist with over 25 years experience in assisting people to overcome struggles and live more fully. While experienced with anxiety, depression, trauma, issues of adolescence and parenting concerns, her passion is relationships and families.

Clinical Practice

In her practice at the Brisbane Centre for Attachment and Relationships, Clare provides individual and relationship therapy from an attachment-based and EFT perspective. She assists people to reconnect with their needs and values, to get out of stuck patterns in their lives and to build secure attachment bonds with those special to them. She finds working with couples and relationships within the EFT framework to be the most satisfying and rewarding work of her career. Clare works closely with the team of therapists at the Brisbane Centre for Attachment & Relationships as a mentor and cheerleader.

Clare’s Approach

Clare believes in the power of attachment and connection in relationships of all configurations and definitions. She is deeply respectful of the cultural context in which people live, love and grow and prioritises this in her therapeutic work, knowing that this work is never completed. Relationships and connection are Clare’s passion. She witnesses again and again that attachment is in-built and vital to us all and that we are at our best when we are securely attached to those who matter most to us in our world.

Clare has written several self-help books on recovery from relationship loss and broken trust as well as two resource-books for therapists. Training for Therapists

Along with mentoring the team at the Brisbane Centre for Attachment & Relationships, Clare is the Director of the Brisbane Centre for EFT (BCEFT) where she provides training in EFT for therapists in Australia and internationally.

Supervisor

Clare is a Psychology Board of Australia endorsed supervisor and has mentored psychologists since 2002. Clare discovered EFT in 2008 and became a certified EFT therapist and supervisor with the International Centre for Excellence in EFT (ICEEFT), assisting in the growth of EFT therapists since 2012.

Trainer

In 2020, the International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy (ICEEFT) certified Clare as an EFT trainer. This means that she can provide ICEEFT-endorsed training for therapists in EFT. Clare has trained therapists from all over the world and she loves to share this powerful attachment-based model of therapy.

Speaker

Clare has presented to therapists both nationally and internationally on topics such as EFT for relationships and individuals, the pros and cons of pornography, treating sexual concerns with EFT, working with shame, recovery from the loss of close relationships, and resolving attachment injuries (broken trust) to restore connection.

Clare loves to make colourful, useful resources for EFT therapists. She has an Etsy page where digital resources for therapists can be downloaded for use in their practice with their clients.
