Matt is an endorsed clinical psychologist with previous experience in a variety of settings including private and public hospitals and community mental health settings. Matt uses a range of evidence-based therapeutic approaches including Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) with couples and relationships whilst maintaining an integrative approach incorporating Cognitive-Behavioural and Psychodynamic aspects when working with clients individually.

Matt works with individuals and relationships and combines pragmatic strategies with deeper understaning of underlying emotional concerns in his work with clients. Matt’s approach generally aims to assess and gain control over debilitating and life impairing symptoms, to restore functioning as quickly as possible, and then involves working with his clients to help address deeper underlying souces of difficulties they experience.

Matt is a positive and respectful therapist who makes his clients feel welcome, safe, and understood as they move towards creating postive change in their lives and their relationships. He has a special affinity for working with partners who are caught in distressing interactional patterns because he can provide containment and safety as well as supporting all parties in the relationship to be the best versions of themselves.
