Jack Kelly
Psychotherapist
Bachelor of Counselling, ICEEFT EFIT Certification
PRONOUNS: He/Him
Jack is a counsellor and therapist who supports those wanting to better understand themselves through their emotional world. He holds a Bachelor of Counselling, is a Certified Practising Counsellor with the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA), and is certified in Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT) through the International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy (ICEEFT).
Jack has a particular interest in high-functioning anxiety—often seen in high achievers and perfectionists who appear to be coping on the outside, but internally feel anxious, overwhelmed, or disconnected. This can show up as people-pleasing, overthinking, and the pressure to hold it all together.
He is also passionate about supporting LGBTQIA+ clients in a way that is affirming, respectful, and grounded in lived understanding of the unique challenges faced within the community, including identity exploration, relationships, and experiences of shame, stigma or disconnection.
Jack offers a warm, safe, and non-judgemental space where clients can slow down and explore what’s happening beneath the surface. Rather than focusing on quick fixes or step-by-step strategies, he works relationally—helping clients understand the patterns they find themselves in, particularly those shaped by earlier relationships. At the core of his work is the belief that, given the right conditions, people don’t need to be fixed—they naturally move toward healing and growth. Jack supports this by helping clients build the capacity to stay with their emotions, creating space for deeper understanding, self-trust, and meaningful change.
While his primary approach is Emotionally Focused Therapy, he also draws on integrative approaches such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Person-Centered Therapy and Positive Psychology.
Jack’s interest areas include:
- LGBTQIA+ challenges
- High-functioning anxiety
- Perfectionism and high achievement
- Attachment patterns and relational dynamics
- Identity and sense of self
- Feeling “stuck” or directionless
Jack’s diary is open to new individual clients, with availability Tuesdays & Wednesdays in person & online
