Nathan writes…
“Are you struggling to feel a sense of connection to yourself and/or your partner(s)? Do you and your partner(s) keep getting into different versions of what feels like the same fight? Are you wanting to break that negative cycle and find more meaning and connection?
My approach is gentle, evidence-informed and relational. My work is trauma-sensitive, attachment & evidence-informed. My greatest skills as a therapist come from my lived experience. I learn from being a parent, partner, son, brother, uncle and friend. Attachment theory, trauma and embodiment are particular interests and inform my practice. I enjoy helping people reconnect with their bodies, make sense of their emotions, heal past hurts and lay down new neural pathways through creating (and protecting) a secure bond with their self and important others.
I support clients with the EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy) model, which is backed up by several decades of neuroscience research. However, every relationship is different, so I aim to be flexible within this model and responsive to each client’s needs. We can work on skills development, psycho education and tools to support healthy communication and emergence of vulnerability and intimacy, and we can work to heal old hurt and replace old patterns with more adaptive, healthy ones.”
